Bernar Venet was born on April 20, 1941 in Château-Arnoux, France. He has been awarded the Grand Prix des Arts de la Ville de Paris as well as the honor of Commandeur dans l'ordre des Arts et Lettres and the Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur.
